I want your vote so that I can work collaboratively with the Board and District management to advance the District’s strategic plan, tackle core priorities, and manage evolving issues.

PRIORITIES

  • Ensure adequate supplies of affordable, high-quality drinking water
  • Modernize infrastructure by further developing and implementing GIS-based asset management
  • Continue to improve and modernize District processes and procedures
  • Explore all options to be resilient to climate change
  • Better document, track, and communicate to rate-payers all the potential options for new water supplies, highlighting potential quantities, cost estimates, and feasibility
  • Institute processes for legacy planning for the board, so it can evolve to be more representative of the community it serves

ABOUT ME

I grew up in San Rafael and have lived in Novato for the past 16 years. I have a Master’s degree in geography/GIS from San Diego State University and a bachelor’s degree in Conservation and Resource Studies from UC Berkeley.  I’ve served in the Peace Corps in Central America, lived on the east coast, taught GIS in the South Pacific, and have lived and worked in the Bay Area, southern California, and the Central Valley.

My parents were active in their community, serving on PTAs, LAFCO, and leading Girl Scout troops. I’m happy to take the reins of public service in my own community.

EXPERIENCE

I have more than 20 years of professional water experience in local government, including the County of Marin, where I’m Principal Planner and GIS analyst in the Public Works Water Resources Division. Focusing on flood control and watershed planning, I’ve provided my water resources, GIS, and CEQA/environmental permitting expertise to operations and maintenance and capital projects. I’ve also worked for the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission, USGS, National Park Service, and private industry.

Important water-related projects I have worked on include Marin County’s Novato Watershed Program,  Marin County Salmonid Enhancement Plan, Marin Team NHD (partnering with the state Department of Water Resources and USGS on updating Marin’s streams in the National Hydrography Dataset), and a USGS project to analyze how Central Valley air pollution affects water quality in lakes in the Sierra.

My past board and committee experience include:

  • HOA Board member and Treasurer
  • Friends of Corte Madera Creek Watershed Board
  • MarinMap Executive Subcommittee and Stormwater Standards Subcommittee
  • Climate and Community Resilience Committee of the Geospatial Professional Network
